Childrens Museum
We are members of the Houston Children's Museum, which basically means we get in for free and they send us letters telling us whats going on there. I only joined because they have an awesome indoor playground, a little kid city and air conditioning. We go often, the boys love it. So I finally took the camera and tried to take some pictures. by the way the pictures are bad because my camera was on a weird setting.

Food, Food, Food
I spend half my life thinking about food, finding recipes, wondering if anyone will like it and then being very disappointed that nobody seems to eat it. Nobody being gummy and zackie, sean eats just because he knows better. Every day not only do I have to think of dinner I have to either think how I can change it or make more kid friendly, seriously I spend so much time on meals its not funny. I have to say that AAAH always eat my food and seem to enjoy it, so I cook for them if I'm getting to discouraged.
So Back to my food dilemma...The only food I can guarantee Gummy will eat is cookies. It used to be Mac n cheese, cookies, cheerios and ice cream but after this week the list is down to cookies. I don't feed him junk food all the time he is just a really picky eater. He does eat other things but his taste changes every ten minutes. I've tried starving him so he will be so hungry he will eat anything... he just starves. I've tried hiding veggies and fruit...he always finds them and picks them out (a talent he inherited from daddy). I've tried making faces, snakes, caterpillars etc...doesn't want it. I've tried having him help make the food...he doesn't care that he made it. I've tried making him sit at the table until he eats something but I always bail on that one because I know a guy who's mother did that and now he refuses to eat any fruit or veggies. So now I'm down to bribes...dinner goes like this two bites on broccoli one bite of ice cream and now even that doesn't seem to work. Seriously I've said "Gummy eat your pizza and you'll get some ice-cream" then i realized how wrong that sounded.
As you can tell I have no idea what to do. So while reading one of the many cooking blogs I visit daily I came across a one ingredient ice cream! Bananas! Perfect! Gummy loves ice cream! So I waited until our bananas were ripe enough to chop up and freeze then i put them in the food processor and sure enough what came out looked like ice cream, felt like ice cream and even tasted like ice cream (thanks to the agave nectar I put in just in case it was too bananary). I was so excited then Gummy took one look at it and said "I not like this." He didn't even taste it!!! I almost cried. Who doesn't like ice cream! Maybe I will feed him cookies for the rest of his life and when he dies of cookie related death I'll say serves you right!! just like when sean has a heart attack I'm going to ask him if all those twinkes were worth it and when I have one he'll ask me if all that chocolate was worth it (I'll say YES) I really won't do that, I'll probably say um something else. I'm at the end, I want to give up, I was never ever a picky eater! so you can't say I'm getting my own back. Who knows, maybe I should write that letter to Oprah.

One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish
We go to the Zoo a lot. Gummy loves the aquarium today I found out why...
Gummy: I love him (the trout swimming by his face)
Mum: you do?
Gummy: I want to catch him
Mum: What are you going to do with him?
Gummy: Eat him!
Later he said the same thing about Nemo, when I told him Nemo was too small to eat he looked very disappointed.

Sneaky, Sneaky
How to get your brothers ice cream without making him cry....
- Finish your ice cream really fast.
- ask your mother to make you a play dough ice cream
- mother makes you a sweet double scoop play dough cone.
- swap your play dough cone for your brothers real ice cream.
- make sure little brother eats play dough and likes it just as much as ice cream.
- try to eat all of the stolen ice cream before your mother comes back from the kitchen.
- Say "we sharing" if she does.

Letters to Oprah
Tonight I made noodles and cheese sauce, basically mac'n'cheese with veggies mixed in. As usual Gummy didn't eat it and surprisingly Zackie didn't either . I even tried bribing them with ice cream, no luck. So i was sitting at the dinner table eating the noodles in a very frustrated way when Gummy decided he'd eat some noodles if I feed him. When I start to feed him I start to write a letter to Oprah in my head (don't deny it you know you write entire letters in your head too) it went something like this...
Dear Oprah,
I need a Harpo hook up. Please send me a food psychologist, chef, expert nanny or any one who will be able to get my children to eat a balanced diet. My 3 year old is the fussiest eater in the world, he wouldn't even eat his own birthday cake. His diet is pretty much cereal and yogurt with a dash of apples. When he eats a vegetable even if its mixed in with something else yummy he will gag on it.
Sure enough as soon as I thought "gag on it" Gummy gagged on a piece of sweet corn that was attached to a noodle then promptly threw up all over the table, floor and himself. No more letters to Oprah.
