Health Museum

This week we went to the Health Museum with our cousins thanks to the museums free day afternoon (every Thursday 2-5pm). It was really fun we got toWalk into a mouth and sit on the teeth that are anatomically correct according to the wannabe dentist that came with us. apparently one of his professors made sure of it.

And for the random part of the post I painted the boys dresser this week. Don't look too close, I think next time I'll have to look up how to paint furniture since I just painted this without knowing what I was doing. Its ok it only cost $8 (thank you to my garage sale dealer) and it couldn't look any worse than it did.

Summertime

I love summertime food! Raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, peaches, apricots and cherries. I love ice cream and all the yummy summer salads. So while its too hot to go outside already, I'm not living by a beach (Galveston doesn't count, its hard to grow up around the best then go to ok) and our pool gets hotter than a bathtub I still love summer. It would be a perfect season if I could only wear my winter wardrobe.

By the way I know its not technically summer yet but it has been summer here for about a month now I go by the temperature not the months.

Downtown Aquarium

This past Friday we went to the Aquarium.
Zac had lots of fun with the Shark, way better than those Ronald McDonald seats.

If we ever go to the aquarium again I'm pretty sure we will be going on this Train ride over and over. Whats not to love? you get to ride a little train, go through a tunnel with sharks swimming all around then you nearly get eaten by a robot shark. Zac thought it was fabulous and Will did the first time but then the second time the robot shark splashed him.

By the way I did try to get some pictures of fish considering we were at the aquarium but my camera doesn't take great pictures in the dark so you'll just have to imagine it.

Discovery Green

Even though we have lived here for a couple of years this was our first trip to Discovery Green because I don't like to parallel park in the city. Its a really nice place (not as cool as southbank) however Gummy and Zackie didn't really take to the fountains. After a little while they were brave enough to go in but then the fountains got really big and it was a traumatising experience trying to get out of them. Hopefully we will make it back again sometime this summer and boys won't be so afraid of the water. Unfortunately these are best pictures I got.

Late Night

Almost every night I ask Why did I stay up so late? Seriously I am dead tired at 4pm yet if its after 8pm super awake like go run a marathon awake. I'm pretty sure this is a very bad habit to be in and I don't even do any thing useful I sit around watching stupid youtube stuff like this and this and sometimes this (can you tell I'm homesick?) or I watch my netflix. So here I am wasting all this time at night when I could be doing something, anything useful even just a little bit useful.
Well I finally figured out why I stay up late its because I don't want to wake up. Don't worry its not that I never want to wake up ever again or that I'm depressed, I just hate getting out of bed. I really hate it. I hate alarm clocks that beep beep beep just makes me crazy. I hate talk radio because my Dad would always listen to it on the way to early morning seminary. I hate morning news programs. So I've decided when my kids are old enough to get themselves breakfast I'm going to have designated sleeping in days. Good Plan. Goodnight.

Colorado Adventures 3

Things I did't get a picture of...

• Aunt R was never called by her real name she was always Jillian
• Zackie was looking at the B family senior pictures on the wall and said the Uncle J was me. hmm.
• Astro Boy (W) and Mr Incredible boy (I) take down monster robots (S)
• You can tell you are out of Texas when you don't see any more massive churchs like the Cowboy Church in Ennis or the Over coming faith Christan Center outside Fort Worth.
• High Schools no matter how small all seem to have a massive football staduim. I really hope they spend just as much on the arts program.
• There is a Park and Gordon Park in Iowa Park
• The Hardeman County rest stop is the greatest rest stop ever built
• They have about 5 buildings in Quarrah yet there is a Twilight club you can attend at 4pm
• Between Claude and Goodnight TX there is a Juliet Rd. I was happy about this one because all the other Juliet streets etc. are all spelled with a ette on the end. You'd think that Juliet would be the more common spelling since shes the one that was in a little play called Romeo and Juliet yet most people assume my name is spelled Juliette. Whats up with that?
• Texas has really pretty wild flowers
• New Mexico isn't enchanting and I like Colorado's Mountains better than Utah's cause they aren't so close, I feel claustrophobic in Utah and I think its cause the mountains are huge and in your face.

Dakota was quite the celebrity until Gummy came running down the stairs screaming "Dakota bite me" after that we only looked at Dakota from the window. In Dakotas defense he didn't really bite Gummy and he was sick and who knows what Gummy did to the poor dog.

Colorado Adventures

Sean had a week off school so we decided to go up to Castle Rock to see the Bears. I was not looking forward to the 15 hour drive with the boys but they were fabulous travellers (now if they can just behave this well when we have to use passports) We only had to stop for gas and once at McDonald's (i hate McDonald's! yet every podunk town seems to have one) Zackie made friends with all the ladies at there while Gummy watched a car race on the big screen. When we got the hotel Gummy was very excited to wheel his suitcase around. Then when we finally arrived at Grandpas house Zackie was a little confused about having two sets of Grandparents with the names Grandma and Grandpa and Gummy was wondering why they didn't have a play set out the back like most of the neighbours.

So on our first day there we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and I have to say its the best zoo ever! They had a really good variety of animals, its on top of a mountain, you get to see the animals up close, its on top of a mountain, they had wallabies and we got to feed giraffes! Well Zackie ate most of the giraffes cracker before I took it from him and gave it to the giraffe. He isn't a huge fan of giraffes anyway it was all tigers and lions for him.

Day 2 arrived and I went shopping at the outlets. Yes I did find some fabulous deals and the Castle Rock church right there a few shops down from J Crew outlet. Grandma B kept Gummy busy by having him try on all the hats in every store we went to. Sorry I didn't take any pictures I was too busy shopping. That afternoon I went to the grocery store where I found Noosa Yogurt, "Aussie Culture, Colorado Fresh" I had to buy it. For those of you you don't know Noosa is a beach town a couple of hours from where I grew up and my family did most of our vacationing there. I love Noosa and Noosa Yogurt was pretty good too.

Next up is Kite flying. Gummy was totally in to it and Zackie was more interested in picking up rocks. He also would not wear shoes outside, further proof that he is really my little Aussie boy.
