These are a few of my Favourite Things

This week we had a girls day, since all the girls except for smello were in Texas! We went to PF Chang's for lunch and I confirmed that Philips Better Lemon Chicken and Crispy Honey Shrimp are the greatest dishes ever made! I love PF Chang's! I had forgotten since the last time I went to the restaurant was in Arizona before Gummy was born. I think I ate more than everyone (thats when I really missed you smello because you are the only one who can eat like me, or maybe it was because I was sitting across from Bruce who never eats and Larmy who actually eats like a lady).

So after our delicious lunch we went to Anthropologie where we spent far to much time decided what were going to buy. I love that store, seriously if I could only shop at one store for the rest of my life it would be there. I wanted to buy everything. I ended up with some sweet navy pants, cute tea cups, an awesome menu planner and a fabulous memory game for the boys (thanks grandma and la). Then we went across the road to Pottery Barn and I found my dream living room (la was smart enough to take a picture so I'll post it once I get it from her). And then we went to Pottery Barn Kids and well I love everything in that store too. Too bad we missed Williams-Sonoma and Central Market or we could have gone to all of my favourite stores. Well it really doesn't matter what we did because it was great to spend time with almost all my sisters and mum.

By the way I know this blog is far from perfect but for all you Americans that read this blog favourite is spelled correctly. I speak Australian because American is so hard to learn! Really can you change to the metric system already? I still don't know how many feet in a yard or pints in a quart or inches in a foot. The metric is so much easier you just add a 0 to the end, 10 millimeters in a centimeter, 100 centimeters in a meter and 1000 meters in a kilometer. Now wasn't that easy.

Out and About

I joined the YMCA and my Family invaded Houston. Excuses I'm using for not blogging. We have been going doing heaps of things and by the time the kids are in bed I'm too tired to think about anything. Plus Lara has been taking all the pictures and I can't get them from her camera to my computer because she forgot the cord. So here is a summary of whats been going on...

• We went with Grandpa to the Dinosaur bones museum (Natural History Museum, which is free every Tuesday afternoon totally worth it) We looked at all the dinosaurs and ignored everything else.
• We went for a ride on the Herman park train and fed the ducks.
• We had boat races in the park by the YMCA and fell off Amy's swing.
• Walked all the way to Herman park from our house which I'll never do again because I realized we could have just walked to the light rail and taken that.
• We built our very own sodor island multiple times since Zackie turns into Godzilla and ruins all train cities.
• Amy had a yard sale, and I sold some things that have been hanging around my house forever.
• Gummy and Zackie painted pictures with aunty Lara and had a blast. I am a bit worried for when she leaves.
• had an Easter egg hunt (after Easter), went to the library Easter egg hunt (before Easter) and went to the playgroup Easter egg hunt without any eggs. Can you tell I am not very organized? I didn't think it would matter much since the boys don't know what day it is so why not take advantage while I still can.
• celebrated daddy's birthday, I got a yummy german chocolate cake from HEB and we ate it, then sean had to go back to school to study. So much for that massive party I was planning.
• skipped April fools
• Had a girls night, where Avey said we had to paint our nails and watch movies with popcorn - so that's what we did.
• Lots of meltdowns, turns out children without naps aren't fun. Did you know that?
• We have had lots of family dinners which is what we do best! Eat and hang out.
• AND I've been shopping with out kids! multiple times! I got to go grocery shopping by myself and I got to go to Anthropologie, Williams - Sonoma, Crate and Barrel and Central Market with Lara.

There you have it Houston family fun, what a blessing it is. So Buzz, Punkett, Smello, lil bean and the Saint, when are you coming?

Now for the YMCA, lots of my friends in the ward are members so I was a little curious about why so I went to check it out. By the way I hate working out but you have to do it if you want to live past 30 so I thought why not. Turns out the Y is very affordable, they mind your kids for 90mins per day, they have great classes and its not one of those intimidating gyms where you have Barbie and Ken wandering around pretending to workout/lift weights, real people go to this place! (I'm not sure why I thought Barbie and Ken look-a-likes would be wandering around, too much TV i guess) It is the best thing I've done all year! I love it. So if you live here then you should join and that concludes my endorsement for the YMCA.
