I wasn't going to post tonight because I'd much rather be watching Eclipse with some of the fabulous ladies in my ward but Sean thinks school is more important than twilight and I couldn't get myself a babysitter. But here I am anyway
Thoughts for tonight
I wonder if eclipse ate into the ratings tonight? Does Cat have lipstick on her teeth? I wish I could rock Mia's hairdo.
Adechike & Lauren. What Brooklyn has no dancers? um last time I checked Brooklyn was really close to NYC and pretty sure there are a but load of talented dancers there. So for the entire dance I wanted to swap Adechike for Carlton from Fresh Prince. Kinda boring dance, not impressed with the sequin bra at least not as impressed as Lauren looked with herself.
I love all the amazon kindle commercial songs. does anyone know who sings them?
Ashley & Ade. Beautiful. Ade is super strong and Ashley was very trusting.
Would you rather be a talented dancer or a talented choreographer?
Billy. ewww he looks like he has no bones and no manly strength.
Robert & Courtney. Awkward medical history of your mother, seriously dude did you really have to announce that to the country? Sonia has the market on creepy dances cornered. I guess the judges didn't want Robert in the bottom three again.
Jose. When he was dancing Zac said 'wanna do that mummy' then Will said 'yeah mum you can do that'
Melinda & Pasha. Don't like Melinda. Nice wardrobe save. Poor girl she was just born 80 years too late.
Kent. Wow you can tell he is so nervous.
Again with the nice songs! Iphone4 commercial anyone know what that song is called?
Alex FTW! love the floor work.
Lauren & Neil. Uh what about your mom? scary wardrobe malfunction! Why didn't Neil give her his vest or shirt? I liked the dance I think Lauren was thinking too much about it though so it didn't look really natural.
Ashley. didn't watch cause Will started dancing.
Missed Billy & Kathryn. Putting the kids to bed.
Robert. Nice solo very subtle wow moments.
Jose & Anya. So I have to hand it to Jose he is the only guy who has danced with Anya so far and kind of looked like a man doing it, other than that I thought he was terrible! why did the judges love it so much? honestly! its a dance competition.
Melinda. Blah.
Kent & Alison. nice flip down from the lift and awesome synchronization. I am starting to love Kent. Can any one tell me why the judges were so hard on him? kent=awesome dancer. jose=disaster with a nice smile. Its a dance competition people!
Adechike. His solo reminded me of the Alvin Ailey dance about slavery I can't remember what its called. (I should since I wrote a paper on it...I blame baby brain).
Lauren. Wear a different colour sweetheart.
Alex & Twitch. AWESOME! if you didn't see this one you need to look it up on youtube (did you love it bruce?) I really want a dvr just so I could have watched that performance again. Seriously if Alex doesn't win then I may boycott SYTYCD. I may even start voting for him, weird. so For those who don't know, I took ballet for a long time at a dance school and in college. For one modern dance class in college we did a style of dance called Mod Hop which was supposed to be modern and hip hop combined but it was more modern dance with a dash of hip hop and I struggled big time with that, I'm not a very talented dancer but my experience with mod hop made me admire Alex's performance all the more. Its so hard to get ballet gracefulness/positions out of your head and body. Seriously i catch myself in step classes at the gym doing ballet arms and whenever we do leg lifts I really have to concentrate on not turning my leg out and pointing my foot and I wasn't even a good ballet dancer let alone a professional who has obviously spent years of his life standing in fifth position! And then he does gangstsa hip hop and ballet in the same routine. Genius. Alex for the win!

This Week at the Ber House...
Monday
I took the boys with me to HEB. Normally this isn't a big event but on Monday William threw his very first "that's not my kid" tantrum. He was yelling at the top of his lungs "mummy, stop getting food" he jumped out of the cart and started to roll around on the floor, he threw his shoe (a nice man came and gave it back to me), he started crying whenever I stopped to look at anything and then all of a sudden after I told him to calm down for the bazillionith time he did and then he looks at me and says "I'm calm, I can try again tomorrow" What? He was calm for about 2 seconds then I told him that he had been too crazy to get fruit snacks today then it started all over again. wahoo. Zac, bless his heart was a perfect little angel.
Tuesday
We went to the Dinosaur Bones museum. Will was very entertained by the power movie and very worried about the zebra. see pic below. Zac loves to see the zebra getting chased and wanted to see the crocodile like five times.
Wednesday
and a picture of my pillows for MDLCB and maybe JDS. lets see how long they last.

Will & Zac earned the last two stars on their reward charts on Wednesday morning so we decided to go to Toy Story 3 right away (before Daddy decided to take the stars away). The boys were really great they sat through the entire movie, I was the only one who was nearly crying at the end, I figure I should get used to that with a household full of boys.

I went to Ikea with the boys by myself. Pretty sure I was going crazy. Turns out they were perfect little gentlemen so much so that I told them they could adopt the dogs they carried round the entire store. Meet Spot and Buster.

Sean was home so we all went to the Beach! We actually paid to get into this beach it was worth it because it was a lot better than the other beaches we've been to on the island. This time Will loved it and Zac wanted to go home the minute we got there. The water was ok except for the fish! I know its the ocean and fish live there but there was so many fish I was wondering when the shark was going to come. I've never seen that many fish so close to shore, seriously it was knee deep water. We stayed long enough for Sean to get burnt and then got ice creams on the way home.
Saturday
Will got a haircut and moved at the wrong time so now he has a bald spot above his ear.

SYTYCD
This week Sean watched most of the show with me and confirmed why I am posting again this week. He said "How many flamers are there on this show?" not the kind of discussion I want to have. So on with the show.
I have to say that I love Cat Deely as a host I think she is one of the best hosts on tv. She handles awkward moments brilliantly, transitions seamlessly and has a lovely chemistry with all the dancers and judges. She deserves an Emmy nod way more than Heidi Klum.
Awww sad Twitch and Neil :( I really hope a boy gets voted out this week because I love the all star boys.
Cristina & Pasha. Sweet flip lift and leg roly poly. It was good, I was expecting it to be good since she is a salsa dancer. I am extremely happy we didn't have to get on the Hot Tamale train or get a mary scream! aren't you?
Adechike & Allison. Weird fake-o cheerleader smiles from allison and the leg spasms at the end. I thought it was very nice of the choreographer to give adechike a chance to redeem himself from last week. I didn't think he as that much better though. Mia and her dance is a heartform was kinda funny.
Alex & Lauren. Alex FTW and in your face Tyce. Ugly costumes very cool dance. I like this dance and I usually don't like Broadway with out Broadway! So whats with the Alex smack down from the judges? Seriously? there were at least 2 other contestants who obviously did a horrible job and they got "oh you just had fun, it was so wrong it was right" comments and Alex gets keep improving? I guess he just peaked too early for the competition or maybe the just hold him to a higher standard since he is so much better than everyone else on the show.
Ashley & Mark. Travis!! Awesome except for the song. Annie Lennox always reminds me of sick aids kids in Africa and that wasn't what the dance was about. Dance was fabulous but obviously not jazzy enough for the judges. I totally agree with the judges about being more contemporary than jazz but don't tell travis off as part of Ashleys critique. Don't they see the dances before they air? Shouldn't producer nigel spoken to travis about making it a little more jazzy or maybe just not say anything about it on air. Not fair to travis or ashley who gets bad reviews because of travis.
Billy & Comfort. Billy + Krump = disaster. Billy reminded me of some missionaries who go to a foreign country and come back thinking they are a native. You know they use all the local slang, start playing sports like football, cricket, rugby and AFL.
Robert & Anya. Robert looked like a little boy dancing with a woman. Where are the men this season? All the boys are boys I don't think any of them could go toe to toe with Anya.
Side note... Learning the Argentine tango is on my bucket list. Ever since I watched an episode of race around the world where the girl went to Argentina and she had to get 4 inch heels to even enter the tango club. One day I'll go and get some sweet 4 inch heels so I can learn the tango for real. I better make it there while I can still wear heels.
Melinda & Ade. Melinda sounding a little more humble this week, must have been that awful dress she had to wear. I was a little distracted for this dance because zac decided he was a cat and will was dragging him from across the living room while he was meowing furiously.
Jose & Kathryn. Oh dear. He as more believable than Billy but just as bad. Where was his smack down? or did we save all the negative things for Alex this week? Have to say Kathryn is an awesome partner, she made that dance just like she was everything for the one last week.
Lauren & Dominic. NappyTab have some competition with this new choreographer. Loved it. and good job Dominic for being serious. Lauren is my new favorite girl.
Kent & Courtney. I wish it was Mark instead of Kent, that would have been awesome. Kent did an ok job I mean I'm betting that he wins or at least makes it to the finale. He reminds me of Benji and I think he has just enough talent to be able to keep up with Alex and his personality will seal the deal with all the tween voters. Eat mor Chikin!
Will has a new obsession, Chick-fil-a! We drive past 2 Chick-fil-a restaurants frequently and Will always asked to go inside because of the sweet play place (he never asks when we drive past McDonald's, the boy has good taste). I was very hesitant to go because I'd only been once before and I thought it was gross but he kept asking so we made a star chart and he could go once he got 15 stars for doing kind/good things. We finally went and I was very impressed! the play place was clean, when zac was chucking a huge tanty the manager came and gave him a balloon and a colouring book, I really like the peach milkshakes and they close on Sundays. I have to say that thanks to Will we have been there a little too often in the past couple of weeks. I think its my new favourite fast food place (when I don't feel like chipotle) and its an air conditioned playground which is nice because we are getting up to 35C here. Side note... i really thought i could handle the heat growing up in Australia but turns out Brisbane has perfect weather compared to Houston.
by the way we have 5 more stars till we can all go see Toy Story 3! anyone want to come?

SYTYCD Vent
I am a little bit obsessed with So You Think You Can Dance and since no one else in my house really cares about it I have decided to blog my thoughts from the show. Its not going to be a recap/review of the show just what I would want to say to someone if they were watching it with me. I'm pretty sure I just need to get it out of my system or else i'll be thinking about sytycd instead of sleeping. Good luck understanding my random thoughts.
I really like having the "all-stars" dance with the new contestants because usually I only like about 4 of the top 20 so sometimes I don't even watch the other routines but with this format I watch all of them because I love the all-stars.
Cat, did you see your hair tonight? honestly? that big ball thingo was bigger than your head.
Billy & Lauren. Not a huge fan of Lauren. I love the footloose song. Billy freaks me out a little when he dances. I think its because of his mega flexibility, he looks disjointed or something.
Christina & Mark. I love Mark! What is Mia talking about when she said her attitudes were perfect? not sure if it was just a camera angle but she looked like she was getting ready to pee on a fire hydrant. Sorry that isn't a very lady like way to explain it but it was ugly.
Jose & Comfort. I am a little suspicious here. Funny how the b boy gets hip hop for his first routine I smell judge pimping. Seriously it wasn't that great and they judges were all that was fabulous lets talk about your journey blah blah blah.... lets see if we can get some good drama out of this guy. And quit it with the twilight wannabe take offs.
Adechike & Kathryn. I love Travis Wall! from the first mo hawked pirouette fan kick i was in love. Then came the bench dance, then the jeanine and jason locket dance and now travis can do no wrong. Adechike on the other hand was a beautiful wet rag, his acting was awful and he looks so short next to Cat. Anyone else get creeped out a litte by really short guys?
Yay Master Chef is finally here! boooo Gordon Ramsey
Melinda & Pasha. She is way to confident for her own good. Whats with the ballroom faces and the sheer shirts really! Yep haven't liked a ballroom routine since Dancey (Danny and Lacey) you know the one "Chin, Chin, Hip, Hip"
Alex & Allison. Alex FTW! Lovely. He may be better than Danny. Miami Ballet, who'd a thought they would have talent like that. Did anyone even know Miami had a ballet company I would have thought it would have a salsa company. This was my favorite dance of the night. I'm not sure that Alex is going to make it though just because he is a ballet dancer, he has a girl voice, and he cries I don't know how america is going to take that all in. Side note, this totally proves that the music in dance is just as important as the movement and if they go together beautifully then its magic. By the way did you notice the super hot guy sitting behind the choreographers?
