This past week we went to the Berensen family reunion at Aspen Grove. Because I haven't gotten the handle on posting pictures and words where I want them to be I'm just going to write about it then post pictures.
Aspen Grove is a family camp that BYU runs over the summertime we went for the entire week! Saturday afternoon to Friday morning. We were lucky enough to be able to fly to utah this time and the boys loved taking two planes in one day. Well except when Will chucked a huge tantrum at the end of one plane ride, when we lost Zacs dum in Phoenix (turned out to be a blessing since now zacs is dummy free! yeah!) I forgot to check to see if the dvd player had any juice left and didn't bring nearly enough snacks but other than that we had a lovely time travelling with the boys.
The camp is just past sundance ski resort and we had a very exciting drive getting there. The camp looks exactly like the Parent Trap camp (Hayley Mills version) complete with a sweet cafeteria with dead animals on the wall, outdoor taps for teeth brushing and nearly all the families there had uniforms on with their family name. All we needed was a lake and for everyone to whistle while they walked.
On sunday we had a wonderful church service outside, of course we ended up sitting on a rock off to the side because who wants to sit on seats when you can sit on a dirty rock and stain your new church pants. On sunday afternoon the boys got to go to day care and I went to a parenting lecture by Ross Baron (who teaches at BYUI and if you happen to go there you should take a class from him even if it is old testament) he is a fabulous teacher and it made me sad that I've already graduated from school. Sunday night we were able to check out board games from the 'store' so we played some battleship, i know so appropriate for the sabbath you'd think they would have jots and tittles or something.
Each weekday the boys got to go to there separate classes (day care) from 9:15 to noon then from 1:30 to 4:30. I thought they would be difficult but both boys loved the classes and came home with crowns, Indian headbands, fish, lion face paints and big smiles.
So while the boys were there Sean and I got to go on a high ropes course, it was terrifying.... the climbing and repelling part not the actual high ropes part. We had the chance to hike to stewart falls, sit around, attend some of the guest lectures, sit around and I got to paint.
As a family we went to frontier night where Will and Zac got to shoot things, make indian necklaces, eat candy, ride horses and climb into stagecoaches. We got to go swimming, play shuffle board, basketball and played on the awesome playgrounds they had there. Will loved the game room and played his own version of pool anytime he could convince us to take him there, and his ping pong career ended with a blackeye of his own infliction.
the weather was fabulous and the boys loved being outside all the time and I loved camping with showers, toilets, hot water, electricity, dressers, heaters and mattresses. Can you actually call that camping?
One of Zacs conversations made the kids say the darnest things wall in his group it went like this
Leader: hey isaac is your name billy?
Zac: no its eyes kick
Leader: hey isaac is your name bob?
Zac: no its isaac
Leader: hey isaac is your name billy bob?
Zac: no its victor!
The best Will conversation went like this...
Mum: no, I'm not swimming
Will: are you sure mum?
Mum: yes
Will: well if you don't get in now then that's it.
Mum: I know
Will: Okay....that's the rules.
two minutes later...
Will: swimmings really fun mum. are you sure? get in.
Mum: thats ok Will I just want to watch (and i don't want to swim in the baby pool and its freaking freezing)
Will is constantly asking if we can go back to the mountain and would really like to be a cougar. Hopefully he means the animal not the byu poo mascot. They loose all the time. I like to think thats the reason they cut the sports at byu i do.

SYTYCD Final
I'm so sad that So you think you can dance is nearly over and I have to wait till next summer for season 8.
Tonight for the very first time I voted! I have watched every season since season two and never ever voted but tonight I voted once for Robert. I thought he was the best, I think Kent will win but Robert got my vote. I loved Kent and Allisons comtemporary, Robert & Kathryns Broadway, Robert & Marks Jazz was awesome just because they danced to Whip it - greatest 80s song ever.

Blue Bell
With a little help from our friends we finally made it to the Blue Bell factory.
We had lots of fun on the perfectly timed tour and even more fun eating ice-cream with our friends.
And I decided that Blue Bell is the best mass produced ice-cream in America. And I'm pretty sure the entire Southern nation would agree with me, well at least all of Texas.

Dancing Dreams
For a long time I have always wanted to dance with Gene Kelly. I've changed my mind. I want to be choreographed by Travis Wall. I love him. And I'm not sure if I can wait till I go to Argentina to learn how to Tango. Maybe I could wait if Sean could dance like Pasha.
I've changed my mind about the Bolshoi ballet too. I want to see the Kirov Ballet perform Swan Lake in the Mariinsky theatre. Please.
By the way I know Gene Kelly is dead. I'll probably be dead too someday and I'm really hoping we can use our perfect bodies to dance in between all the work we be doing.

Monsters
Will and Zac play a game Will likes to call Monsters with Sean. The game consists of Dad wrestling with the boys on their bed while they pretend to be superheros. Will changes his super identity from Spiderman to Mr Incredible to Super W and occasionally Batman. Zac is always Astroboy, sometimes Incredaboy but tonight after the bath he came up with a new one.... Warning this may be too much information (i thought it was hilarious) ... he was running around the living room punching the air yelling PenisBoy! Anyone know what to say to that?
